Me Made May 2017 – Week 1 roundup

We’ve been so lucky here in South West Scotland to have a blast of good weather which has made Me Made May all the easier!  I haven’t set any specific goals for Me Made May this year, I just want to show you how I wear my handmade clothes on a day-to-day basis.  I like to be outdoors and active so it is important my clothes fit in with my lifestyle.

Day 1

A lovely sunny day so I headed to the Ken Dee Marshes after work to take the dogs for a walk:

New shirtdress on today – still pretty chilly so went with RTW leggings and my cropped sweater to keep cosy:

 

Day 6

Saturday and I’m ready for my weekend!  Separates are where I struggle most to mix and match my handmade clothes so just one item today:

  • Top – Sew Over It Ultimate Shift – sewn as a sleeveless top with the ruffle/flounce neck trim
  • Cardigan and trousers – RTW from my days working in an office
  • Location – in the shop garden

Thoughts on week 1

It has been so nice to get out of my multiple layers and long sleeves that I feel like I’ve been cloaked in for winter!  I’ve got such a lot of new projects that are un-blogged so it has been great to finally get them worn, photographed and up on the website.  Expect more to come!

I’ve set myself a bit of an un-official challenge to try and vary the scenery in my photos to provide some extra interest and show off some of Dumfries & Galloway’s beautiful scenery.  Let me know if you’ve got any suggestions for interesting spots as I’m sure I’ll be running out of ideas as the month progresses.
