Description: This Trip Around The World Quilt is a great beginners patchwork project. Learn how to cut your fabric using a rotary cutter and ruler; strip piece fabric for efficient sewing; and how to sew your quilt top together. The finished quilt top will measure 53″ x 53″ / 1.3m x 1.3m. This class is held over two evenings.
Skill level: Competent Beginners – no prior quilting experience required but you should be confident using a sewing machine.
Requirements: You will need 7 coordinating fabric each measuring 0.45m x 44″ wide. If you are buying fat quarters you will need 2 fat quarters of each print. Fabrics with an obvious one-way print are not recommended. Get 10% off class supplies at Holm Sown.
This class is just to sew the quilt top. To finish your quilt you will also need: 40cm of 44″ wide fabric (binding), enough fabric to make piece 1.5m x 1.5m (backing), and 1.5m x 1.5m wadding.
