Description

Description: In this six-week block of classes you will learn how to make a quilt using the popular deconstructed nine patch design.  You can pick the size of quilt top you would like to make based on your experience and the time you have available.

In this series of classes you will learn how to use a rotary cutter and how to accurately piece fabric.  How to make your ‘quilt sandwich’, use a walking foot to quilt, and how to finish your quilt with mitred binding.  You can choose to make a child, lap or double bed sized quilt.

Depending on how fast you get on during the classes, you may need to allow for some sewing time at home to finish sewing the blocks together, and to finish quilting or binding your quilt. There is a break of 1 week between weeks 5 and 6 to give you plenty of time to catch up.

Skill level: You should be able to sew accurate seams with confidence and have made several projects already.  If you are unsure then please get in touch.

Requirements: You will need suitable quilting cotton fabric.  We will be in touch once you’ve booked to discuss what design and size of quilt you plan to make.  You’ll receive 10% off any materials bought in the shop for the project.

Cost: £80.00

Available dates: This class is over 6 sessions (over 7 weeks) lasting a total of 18 hours.

Weekly on a Thursday night starting Thursday 12th January – Thursday 9th February, and finishing Thursday 23rd February.  6.00pm – 9.00pm.

Light refreshments will be provided throughout the class.  For full-day workshops, please bring a packed lunch or you can pop out to one of the cafes in town to buy something.
