Unpacking Sundance was like a blast of summer, much needed on a cold, grey winters day in Scotland! Sundance is the latest range designed by Beth Studley of Love From Beth, and manfuactured/distributed by Makower UK / Andover Fabrics.
The range contains 20 designs in bold and bright prints and colours. There is a great mix of larger scale designs and small scale blenders, as well as some really nice neutral blenders that makes this range so versatile. With its warm, mediterranean palette of colours, it is sure to bring life to any project you chose to make with it.
It would be fab as a bag or purse, but for patchwork & quilting projects I’m really into to curved piecing at the moment and I think these fabrics would look stunning in a curvy quilt! Take a look at my pinterest boards to get some inspiration – Drunkards Path Quilts and General Quilting Inspiration.
Makower UK is typically considered a quilting cotton manufacturer, however, as a dressmaker, when I was processing these fabrics they really jumped out at me as great options for lovely bright summer clothes. While quilting cotton doesn’t lend itself to all types of dressmaking project (you want to avoid any patterns that need a nice drapey or lightweight fabric), it is fantastic for fit and flare style dresses, tunics, skirts and kids clothes. Because it is slightly more weighty I find it works really well for our UK summers and that you don’t need to line them.
